Multiple OS
How many server Operating Systems can you select from?
Each and every personal computer or web server is run by an Operating System - the low-level program which communicates with the hardware equipment, including peripherals such as a mouse and a printer, and any applications that are present on your system. Any program input using a command line or a Graphical User Interface (GUI) is processed by sending an Application Program Interface (API) request to the Operating System. On a web server, each and every app runs within the parameters established by the OS as well - priority, physical memory, processing time, and so on. This is valid for both standard Internet site scripts and server-side software like a media server. If a virtual server is set up on a physical one, there can be two separate Operating Systems, referred to as guest OS and host OS, so that you'll be able to set up a different software environment on the very same machine.

Multiple OS in VPS Servers
In case you select one of our
VPS server solutions, you'll have as many as three different Operating Systems to choose from - CentOS, Debian and Ubuntu. They're all Linux releases and we offer them rather than offering just a single OS, since the applications that you might choose to run on the server could have specific requirements regarding the software environment. Each one of the three has some advantages in terms of the available packages that you may later install, but what's common between them is the fact that they're really secure and reliable and have large communities that support them. The hosting Control Panel options for the VPS accounts depend on your OS choice, so as to provide you with more flexibility. In case you order the virtual server with one OS and you need a different one later, our technical support team can easily reinstall the VPS with the new one in a matter of minutes. We also offer the option to maintain the Operating System on your server up-to-date on a weekly basis.

Multiple OS in Dedicated Servers
The
dedicated server solutions that we offer come with as many as three different Operating Systems to select from. They are all Linux distributions - Ubuntu, CentOS and Debian, and not only do they have no license charges, but they’re also regarded as the most reliable and secure OSs. We offer three different ones since each one of them is backed by a different community. The packages which you could add on your hosting server are different and this could matter in case you need to install some piece of software with specific requirements for the hosting environment. In this light, the hosting Control Panel which you can select for the dedicated server is also determined by the Operating System that you'll choose. You can pick any of the three Operating Systems during the order process, yet if needed, we can always set up the server once again with an alternative one upon your request. As an additional service that you can add to the plan at any time, we can update the OS regularly so as to keep it as risk-free as possible.
