The dot SE country-code domain was established in 1986 and delegated to Sweden. During the first years after its establishment, the registration procedure was pretty restrictive, so a very low number of domain names were purchased. Persons were permitted to get only one domain under .PP.SE (“pp” stands for “private person”). Local presence was compulsory, i.e. only Swedish individuals, firms and organizations could register a dot SE domain.
